Workshop on road operation and management in Hanoi, Vietnam
From May 31 to June 3, MLIT, IDI, NEXCO Central and HSBE joint mission team went to hold meetings with Vietnam road related government. Mr. Ooba, Director for International Engineering, MLIT, is a leader for this team. HSBE sent Mr. Okuda, Director of the Long-span Bridge Engineering Center, as a member of this team.
The missions of this team are as follows;
- To emphasize the importance of operation and management on expressway,
- To explain the Japanese ODA on road sector,
- To hold the workshop on operation and management of expressway.
The team had discussions with JICA, VITRANSS, VEC, VRA, TEDI and MOT. After the meeting with MOT, we held a workshop at the MOT conference room. HSBE engineer made a presentation on long-span bridge operations and managements.
The fruits of this mission are as follows;
- Gave the Vietnamese government the realization of the personnel and system shortage for the maintenance and management of expressway,
- Declared the Japanese ODA and confirmed the continuous negotiation with the road sector,
- Confirmed the importance of the unified interface for expressway operations.
