Participation in Technical Seminar Organized by Construction Association of Korea

Technical Seminar was held in Seoul, Korea on July 9, 2009. The seminar was organized by the Construction Association of Korea (CAK) and supported by the Overseas Construction Association of Japan, Inc. (OCAJI).

The CAK has been exchanging construction technologies with the OCAJI. The CAK has held technical seminars in cooperation with the OCAJI every year. This year, the CAK called for experts on both seismic resistance design of long-span bridges and building works utilizing robots. According to the request from the CAK, the OCAJI decided to dispatch two experts from Japan on both the fields.

About 50 researchers/engineers participated in this seminar. From HSBE, Mr. Fukunaga, the leader of Wind and Earthquake Engineering Group, Long-span Bridge Engineering Center, joined the seminar and made a presentation entitled “Earthquake resistant design of Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge”, in response to the request of the organizers.
