HSBE delegates visited Korea Expressway Corporation

HSBE signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for mutually beneficial relationship with Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) on May 8, 2009( http://www.jb-honshi.co.jp/english/news/0905news-2.html ). Based on the MOU, the second technical meeting was held in the head office of KEC and the construction office for Incheon Grand Bridge on September 9 and 10. The Managing Director of HSBE, Mr. Mamoru Nakamura, who was a team leader of the delegates, and other six members joined the meeting in Korea.

On the 10^th of September, after the courtesy call for the head office of KEC, HSBE team visited the Traffic Information Center, the rest area and toll office in the expressway operated by KEC, the Seohae Grand Bridge and the Expressway & Transportation Research Center.

On the 11^th of September, after they visited the construction site of the Incheon Grand Bridge, which will be completed soon in October, 2009, the second meeting was held in the construction office for the Incheon Grand Bridge.

Mr. Hur, In, the Managing Director for Structure Division of KEC, chaired the meeting and KEC members presented the outline of the Incheon Grand Bridge, the idea of super long-span bridges in Korea, and the toll system in KEC. Mr. Kazuhiko Yamada, the Deputy General Manager of Kobe Operation Center, HSBE, made a presentation on the outline of Honshu-Shikoku Bridge projects. After the presentations, discussion was actively done.

Finally, the participants concluded the meeting to hold it periodically, and then the whole program was completed.
