Workshop on Suspension Bridges in Korea

1st Workshop entitled “Recent Technological Topics on Suspension Bridges” was held in Seoul, Korea, on April 28, 2010. On the occasion of the completion of the detailed design of ULSAN Grand Bridge, the Workshop was arranged to exchange experiences about the main cable system and the erection engineering of suspension bridges.

The Workshop was hosted by Hyundai Institute of Technology & Quality Development in cooperation with the Civil & Environment Division of Hyundai Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd.

Approximately 150 engineers participated in the Workshop. From Japan, 4 engineers took part in the Workshop as speakers. From HSBE, Mr. Koji Kawaguchi, Deputy Senior Director of Maintenance Operation Department, gave a presentation titled “Construction of Tunnel-Typed Anchorage” based on the experience of the Shimotsui-Seto Bridge and Kurushima-Kaikyo Bridge of Honshu Shikoku Bridges.
