The 7th International Cable Supported Bridge Operators' Conference was held in CHINA

The 7th International Cable Supported Bridge Operators' Conference (the 7th ICSBOC) was held in Zhenjiang City, China, May 18-20, 2010. Jiangsu Communications Holding Co. Ltd. hosted the conference in cooperation with Jiangsu Runyang Bridge Development Co. Ltd., Jiangsu Highway and Transportation Society, and Jiangsu Transportation Research Institute Co. Ltd. ICSBOC had been held every two years in U.S.A., Denmark and Japan by turns.

About 200 engineers/professors participated in this conference. Twenty-one speakers made presentations in the six sessions such as "Steel Bridge Deck Pavement","Fatigue Evaluation","Bridge Maintenance","Cable Maintenance","Monitoring" and"Innovation in Maintenance and Anti-icing". Presentation program is shown below.

Mr. Nakamura, Managing Director (at that time), Mr. Okuda, Senior Director of Long-span Bridge Engineering Center, Mr. Tokunaga, Director of Highway Maintenance Division, Mr. Kurino, Director of Bridge Maintenance Division, Mr. Kusuhara, Manager of Bridge Maintenance Division and Mr. Yamaguchi, Manager of Inspection and Structural Engineering Division, HSBE, participated in the conference and four presentations such as"Test Application of Micro Surfacing Method for the Maintenance of Steel Deck Pavements","Reasonable Maintenance for Cable Band Bolts on Suspension Bridges","Preventive Maintenance of Suspender Ropes on the Honshu-Shikoku Suspension Bridges","Field Observation of Wind-induced Vibration for Circular Cable of Long-span Bridges" were shown in the conference.

The next conference will be held in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2013, hosted by the Forth Estuary Transport Authority.
