Visit Top of Mt. Tsurugi

The attitude of Mt. Tsurugi is 1,995 m. The mountain is a main top around the east mountain area of Shikoku. It takes about 90 minutes to climb up the top of the mountain by using a lift of 15 minutes from Minokoshi. The field, "Heike Baba", is at the top of the mountain, where it is said that defeated Heike practiced riding.

Visit Kazura Bridge

Kazura Bridge crosses Iya River which is located in Iya. The Bridge is made from plants like creepers. The Bridge is designated as an important tangible cultural property ethnic in Japan. The height above the river is about 14 m. When walking on the Bridge, you feel your body shaken with thrilling.

Iya hot springs: staying overnight

Visit Shikoku Karst

Shikoku Karst is one of three major karsts in Japan. It is located in Niyodo Village, Higashi-Tsuno Village and Yusuhara Town. White limestone and doline like mortar shape are dotted in Tengu Highland and Jiyoshi Pass. In addition, you can see beautiful landscape with Japanese pampas grass, bamboo grass, etc.

Visit Tengu Highland

The attitude of Tengu Highland is 1,485 m, and the highest point is called Tengu-Mori. The highland locates about 25 km wide to east and west, which is one of three major karsts in Japan. The highland is placed in the east of Shikoku Karst and this is the origin of Shimanto River. You can see Ishizuchi mountain chain in the north of the highland and Pacific Ocean in the south of the highland and the view is like panorama for 360 degrees. You can also enjoy green, blue sky, red leaves, skiing, etc. through the year with the beauty of nature.

Visit Rice terraces in Yusuhara

There are rice terraces in the mountains. Slight area of the slope in the mountains are made use of, and this is an original scene of Japan. Water is led from the bottom of valley and stone walls are built by stevedoring stones. The rice terrace here is selected as one of the 100 spots in Japan. The owner system is introduced to preserve the scene.

Visit Shimanto River and submerged bridges

There are some submerged bridges around the midstream and upper stream of Shimanto River. Those bridges are a symbol of the River, which shows people have lived with the bridges. Shimotsui Megane (eyeglass) Bridge, which is a legacy of old railway for forest works, crosses the River.
