Awaji Service Area (northbound)

This is an enormous service area (Awaji Service Area) on the northernmost point of Awaji Island. From the viewing platform looking out over Akashi Strait, you can get a good look at the Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge. We particularly recommend the view of the lit-up bridge which can be seen from the Lover's Sanctuary monument "Heart Light Gate."

(Upon use of the Awaji Service Area)

• You can freely come and go from the Awaji Service Area (northbound) and Awaji Service Area (southbound).
• To go to the Awaji Service Area from within Awaji Island, merge from Higashiura Interchange or an interchange south of Higashiura, proceed towards Honshu, and cross over to Awaji Service Area (northbound). To go to the southbound Awaji Service Area, please go through the northbound Awaji Service Area (there is a toll for the distance from the Higashiura Interchange, or the interchange south of it, to the Awaji Interchange).
• Please note that when coming from ordinary roads to the Awaji Interchange, it is not possible to reach the Awaji Service Area or Awaji Highway Oasis.
• Please note that it is not possible to walk to a bus stop from Awaji Service Area (northbound).
