Terms and Conditions of Participation

- I would like to attend the tour with my pre-school child.
- A
- Participants must be 13 years of age or older.
For safety reasons, please note that children under 13 years old are not permitted to participate in the tour.

- I just graduated from middle school this spring. Can I participate at the middle school fee?
- A
- We set adult and middle school student fees based on the participant's age or grade level on the tour date. In Japan, the new school year starts on April 1. For example, if the participant is scheduled to graduate from middle school in March of the same year, they will qualify for the middle school student fee if the tour date is on or before March 31. However, the adult fee will apply for tours on or after April 1.

- I cannot print the written pledge.

- Please send an email to the office at akashi_kaikyo_bridge64@jtb.com with the reservation date, representative's name, and phone number, and the office will send an email you with the form as an attachment.
Please print it out at a nearby convenience store, and complete it and bring it with you on the tour.

- Why are the tour dates irregular?
What is the difference between available and unavailable slots?

- Non-bookable slots are used by travel agents or represent excluded slots.

- What is the minimum number?
- A
- It is the minimum number of people required for the tour. The tour requires a minimum of 12 participants. Please note that if less than 12 people have booked the tour 7 days prior to the tour date, the tour will be cancelled.

- Is it possible for an interpreter guide to accompany us as well?
- A
- It is possible for an interpreter guide to join, but you will need to pay the regular participation fee for the guide. Please note that participation will be subject to availability and the maximum number of participants.

- If I have to turn back due to claustrophobia or acrophobia, what happens to the participation fee?
- A
- Cancellations on the day of the event are subject to a 100% cancellation fee, and no refund will be provided.

- How many steps are there in total?
- A
- There are two locations with stairs, each having between 15 to 20 steps. Please find the photo attached (PDF).

- I have a disability. Can I participate?
- A
- For safety reasons, participation in this tour may be difficult for individuals with certain disabilities. Depending on the nature of the disability, it may not be possible to participate in the tour. Please contact our office at akashi_kaikyo_bridge64@jtb.com before applying so we can assess if any accommodations can be made and determine whether the tour is suitable for you.

- My credit card payment is not accepted.

- Please check the expiration date and limit of your credit card as well as the communication status.
Please be careful not to mistype your credit card number or other information.

- Can I pay the fee in cash?
- A
- We do not accept cash payments, as we confirm reservations by credit card payment on JTB BÓKUN on a first-come, first-served basis.

- Can I get a receipt?
- A
- We are unable to issue a receipt. However, the ticket includes the date, amount, and payment information, so please use it as a substitute.

- Can I make a group reservation?
- A
- You can make a reservation as usual by registering the number of your group on JTB BÓKUN.

- I haven't received a reservation confirmation email. Is my reservation complete?

- If you have set your spam filter or enabled domain specification reception, please change these settings to receive our message.
Please check your spam folder in case that the email is there.
If you can't find our email anywhere, please send an email to the office at akashi_kaikyo_bridge64@jtb.com with the reservation date, representative's name, and phone number.

- You can cancel your reservation for free up to 11 days prior to the tour date. Please follow the instructions in your reservation confirmation email.
A cancellation fee will be charged from 10 days prior to the tour date. Please send your request to the office via email at akashi_kaikyo_bridge64@jtb.com

- Is there a cancellation fee?
- A
- You can cancel your reservation free of charge up to 11 days prior to the tour date.
However, a cancellation fee will be charged from 10 days prior to the tour date.
・20% of the fee will be charged if you cancel your reservation 10-4 days before the tour date.
・50% of the fee will be charged if you cancel your reservation 3-1 days before the tour date.
・100% of the fee will be charged if you cancel your reservation or fail to show up on the tour date.

- I would like to change the date and the time of my reservation.

- Please send your request to the office via email at akashi_kaikyo_bridge64@jtb.com
We can usually accommodate the change, but we may not be able to change your reservation if the slot to which you wish to change is sold out or for other reasons. A change fee is charged from 10 days prior to the tour date according to the same standard as the cancellation policy.

- I would like to change the number of participants because some of them cannot attend.
- A
- Please send an email to the office at akashi_kaikyo_bridge64@jtb.com with the reservation date, representative's name, phone number and information about participants who cannot attend. The fee will be refunded to your credit card. A cancellation fee is charged from 10 days prior to the tour date.

- I would like to change the number of participants because there are additional people.
- A
- Please send an email to the office at akashi_kaikyo_bridge64@jtb.com with the reservation date, representative's name, phone number and information about additional participants. We can accommodate the offer up to 3 days prior to the tour date. If there is an additional charge, we will inform you of the URL of the payment page by email. Please check the contents of the page and complete the payment. Please note that we may not be able to accept your request in some cases, such as when we are fully booked.

- I entered incorrect booking details (such as age, gender, email, etc.). How can I correct this?

- Please email the office at akashi_kaikyo_bridge64@jtb.com with the reservation date, representative's name, phone number, and the information that needs to be corrected.

- I would like to change the participant for the tour.
- A
- Please cancel or rebook the tour yourself up to 11 days before the event date. If it is within 10 days or if you are concerned about availability, please contact the office at akashi_kaikyo_bridge64@jtb.com with your reservation date, representative's name, and phone number. Changes to the reservation in this case will incur the same cancellation fee.

- I have canceled the credit card that was used for payment. How will a refund be processed in this case?
- A
- The response may vary depending on the credit card company you are using. Please contact your credit card company for further assistance.
In Case of Bad Weather
- Q
- Will the tour be cancelled if it rains?
- A
- The tour will be cancelled if it is deemed difficult to hold due to heavy rain or strong winds.

- Do I need to prepare rain gear in case of rain?
- A
- We will lend you raincoats, so there is no need to bring your own.

- I would like to cancel the tour due to a typhoon forecast.
- A
- Cancellations other than at the discretion of the organizer will be subject to a cancellation fee.
A cancellation fee will be charged if the tour takes place.

- When will I be notified if the tour is cancelled due to bad weather?
- A
- Information will be sent to your email address registered at JTB BÓKUN by 7:00 p.m. the day before the tour date. Information will also be posted on the website of the Akashi Kaikyo BRIDGE EXHIBITION CENTER.

- How is a tour fee refunded if a tour is cancelled due to bad weather or other reasons?

- JTB BÓKUN will process the refund to your credit card.
On the Tour Date
- Q
- Due to traffic delays, we will be unable to arrive at the scheduled start time.
- A
- If you are late, you will not be able to attend the tour. Please allow plenty of time in advance.
- Q
- Are there any things to keep in mind during the tour?
- A
- The tower is about 300 metres high at the top and there is an expressway below. The bridge is also overlooking the sea where ships operate. Please be careful never to drop anything as there is a risk of falling objects causing a serious accident.
For your safety, please follow the tour guide's instructions.

- How long will the tour last without a restroom break?
- A
- Approximately one and a half hours.
If you need to go to the toilet during the tour, we will take you to the toilet in an emergency vehicle.
However, you may not be able to rejoin the tour.

- I would like to leave the group earlier due to my travel schedule. Is that possible?
- A
- As the group will assemble and disband together, it is not possible to leave the group during the tour.
Belongings and Clothes

- Can I leave my luggage anywhere?
- A
- You can leave your luggage at the Akashi Kaikyo BRIDGE EXHIBITION CENTER.
Please note that the room is locked but unattended during the tour.

- What kind of clothing should I wear?
- A
- We ask that you join the tour in comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement and provides appropriate coverage of the skin. Additionally, skirts, leather shoes, high heels, sandals, and similar items are prohibited. - Is there a restriction of belongings?
- A
- Please join a tour with nothing in your hands and put your valuables, small articles, towels in a bag fixed to your body such as a rucksack.

- Can I bring a camera, a smartphone and so on with me?
- A
- We ask you to have your camera, smartphone binoculars,etc. around your neck with a neck strap. We will lend you smartphone neck straps during the tour.

- Can I take a picture or shoot a video during a tour?
- A
- Yes, but we allow only a camera or a smartphone to be used, as long as they are securely attached to your body with a neck strap or similar method, in order to prevent falling objects. Please make sure not to remove the neck strap from your neck.

- Can I borrow a neck strip?
- A
- We will lend you straps for smartphones and glasses. Please return these at the end of the tour.

- Is it possible to have a non-alcoholic drink to stay hydrated during the tour?
- A
- You are allowed to drink only at the spots shown by the tour guide. For safety reasons, please avoid drinking outside these designated areas.

- I don't understand Japanese. Is there any assistance?
- A
- We will show you a safety video with English subtitles.
In addition, we will lend you an audio guide in English, Chinese, and Korean.

- Can I bring my own translation device?
- A
- You can bring your own as long as it can be attached around your neck with a neck strap.

- What steps do I need to take to cover the tour?
