I was appointed President of Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Expressway Company Limited (HSBE) as a successor to Mr. Masao Goto on June 24, 2026.

The Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Expressways are used by many peoples as main arteries in the Seto Inland Sea region and have been contributing greatly to the economic and social development of not only the region but also the whole country. The cumulative economic effect is estimated about JPY 51 trillion for 35 years from 1988, when Seto Chuo Expressway opened, to 2022.

On the other hand, as environment around expressways in Japan, maintenance is being more important in recent years by seriousness and frequency of national disasters and by aging of structures as well as the response to the change of mobility society such as realizing automatic driving. In addition, the social environment is changing greatly like the population reduction, the aging population and the depopulation in rural areas. Furthermore, new trends to the next generation are being accelerated such as sustainability management to sustainable society, actions to decarbonized society, generative AI, technological innovation, and so on.

To keep contributing to the sustainable society with adapting to these change and trends, We Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Expressway Group will promote sustainability management through the efficient management of the infrastructure connecting Honshu and Shikoku and contribute to the development of the national economy and the improvement of quality of life. We will also contribute to sustainable society with a mission to make a broad contribution to society by addressing social issues in the Seto Inland Sea region and both domestically and internationally.
