Shimotsui-Seto Bridge is a suspension bridge crossing Shimotsui-Seto on the border between Okayama and Kagawa Prefectures.
As the anchorage (SB1A) of the Bridge, a tunnel anchorage was applied not to spoil the landscape around the Bridge in Honshu side, which is in Seto Inland Sea National Park.
In addition, Washuzan Tunnel in the north end of the Bridge was constructed not to damage the landscape of Washuzan which is famous for a beauty spot. The structure of the Tunnel is a four-eye type, and upper two tunnels are for highways and lower two tunnels are for railways. This is the first structure in the world.
