Guide to using Mukaishima Interchange toll settlement machine

1. Overview

  • This is installed at the Mukaishima Interchange on the Nishi-Seto Expressway (Shimanami Expressway)
  • Only if you travel between the Nishiseto-Onomichi Interchange and the Mukaishima Interchange, you are required to pay using the toll settlement machine.
  • All vehicles (including ETC vehicles) are required to pay using the toll settlement machine.

*If you need a receipt statement, you can get one by pressing the Issue Receipt button (5).

2. How to use the toll settlement machine

  • (1) Card insertion slot (ETC/credit card)
  • (2) Coin insertion slot
  • (3) Bill insertion slot
  • (4) Change dispenser
  • (5) Issue Receipt (certificate of use) button
  • (6) ID insertion slot
  • (7) Attendant call button and lever (for disability discount, etc.)
  • (8) Camera
  • (9) Receipt (certificate of use) issue slot
  • (10) Mark for people with hearing difficuluties

3. Procedures for use

  • (1) Stop your vehicle (including ETC vehicles) next to the toll settlement machine.
  • (2) The amount and "Please insert cash or card" is displayed on the Information Panel. (You will also be informed of the toll by voice guide.)
  • (3) Before payment
    • Medium-sized vehicles those vehicle class code begin with 8 should press the [(7) Attendant call button (or lever)] to call an attendant.
    • If applying for the disability discount, please use the [(7) Attendant call lever] to call an attendant.
    • If you have hearing difficuluties, please use the [(7) Attendant call lever] and show the [(10) Mark for people with hearing difficuluties] to the [(8) camera].
    • If traveling using applicable ID, please use the [(7) Attendant call lever] to call an attendant.
    • Credit cards with only IC chips cannot be used at payment machines.
      We apologize for the inconvenience, but if you wish to use a credit card with only an IC chip, please use the [(7) Attendant call button (or lever)] to call an attendant.

      *Upgrading the system is undergoing for now, and credit cards with only IC chips will be able to be accepted after the upgrading complete in March 2021.

  • (4) Payment
    • Those using an ETC card or credit card should insert it into [(1) Card insertion slot].

      *Customers using ETC cards are eligible for various ETC discounts.

    • Those paying by cash should insert it into [(2) Coin insertion slot] or [(3) Bill insertion slot]. (5-yen and 1-yen coins cannot be used)
      If there is change, it will be dispensed via the [(4) Change dispenser]. Please take any change.
    • Those traveling using applicable ID should insert ID into [(6) ID insertion slot].
    • If you need a receipt, please press [(5) Issue Receipt button], then take your receipt from [(9) Receipt issue slot].
    • If you experience any trouble, please operate the [(7) Attendant call button (or lever)] to call an attendant.
  • (5) Confirm that the barrier bar in front has lifted, and proceed forward.
