Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum

hyogo

This is Japan’s only museum specializing in carpentry tools. In addition to displaying handmade carpentry tools, there are also life-size models of the pillars and joinery of the Kondo Hall (aka the Golden Hall) of Toshodaiji Temple and a life-size teahouse model. The museum building itself, which is an exhibit itself of traditional craftsmanship, is also one of the highlights.
