Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art

Designed by world-renowned architect Isozaki Arata, this museum opened in 1974. Its unique exterior resembles binoculars. The museum has a wide-ranging collection of approximately 8,000 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, and prints. In addition to world-famous masterpieces by Rodin, Renoir, Monet, Degas ,and others, Surrounding the museum is the 11.8-hectare "Bijutsu no Mori Park," ideal for strolling.
