Yakage Museum of Art

The museum opened in November 1990. The interior is a townhouse-style space that makes use of thick red pine beams, and the Mizumiyagura tower offers a panoramic view of the Yakage townscape. The permanent exhibition room mainly displays works by calligrapher Kaido Tanaka and Western-style painter Issho Sato, among others, that have a connection to the local area. The museum aims to be a beloved place in the local area as a base for cultural and artistic activities.
